Francis Duncan (she/her/they) joined the board in 2025 and quickly became a vital part of our event operations team. Whether she’s running the Square machine, helping coordinate logistics, or supporting behind-the-scenes planning, Francis brings steady energy, humor, and a deep love for her chosen family to everything she does.
Her advocacy is rooted in the belief that LGBTQ+ people belong everywhere; not just in traditionally “queer” spaces, but in every corner of life. She’s passionate about breaking stereotypes, building community, and creating spaces where people can show up exactly as they are. Her favorite Pride memory is marching with the local crew at KC Pride, surrounded by joy, laughter, and the electric energy of belonging.
Francis is especially excited about growing St. Joe Pride’s reach and consistency; dreaming up casual community events like disc golf meetups that help folks connect outside of big celebrations. Her goal is to help build a legacy of queer joy and visibility in St. Joseph, one cup of coffee and one event at a time.
Outside of Pride, Francis is a thrill-seeker and artist. She races cars, snowboards, paints, and spends time outdoors with her dogs and family. Her life is full, fast-paced, and fueled by the belief that building something meaningful is always worth the effort.
